Jackie Flor, Horticulturist of Getty Grounds & Gardens will speak about the Artist, Robert Irwin who designed the garden.
Robert Irwin was an American installation artist who explored perception in his landscape installation projects. His site-specific projects focused on the elements of light and space, designing “rooms” within gardens. His designs permitted continuous exploration and changes in perception by the viewer and the artist. Plants were the design materials, creating an interplay with light, color and reflection.
