Santa Fe Garden Club – Est. 1939

It is a member club of the prestigious national organization, The Garden Club of America. Club members are busy throughout the year physically tending the New Mexico Museum of Art Courtyard Garden; planning and executing the Behind Adobe Walls Home and Garden Tours on two Tuesdays in July; overseeing the ongoing restoration of the Amelia White Historic Garden; creating and planning the Annual Community Educational Event and Luncheon; participating in the expansion of the Santa Fe Botanical Garden; attending a variety of Horticulture, Floral Design, Conservation and Photography in-club workshops; and attending monthly business meetings with educational programs. Profits raised through its Behind Adobe Walls and Pequeno Home and Garden Tours provide funding for environmental, conservation and horticultural projects and grants for organizations within the community.
a. Active Membership is restricted to 50 Active Members
b. Introductory Period- A prospective member is introduced to the Santa Fe Garden Club during a one-year period at which time they can attend monthly meetings and participate in select Club activities at the invitation of an active member.
c. Provisional Period- A prospective member is sponsored and proposed for membership by an Active Member of the Club. An introductory one-year period commences before the Provisional Member becomes an Active Member of the Club. During the provisional period, the prospective member engages in the club’s many activities including physically working in the New Mexico Museum of Art Courtyard Garden; attending monthly business meetings and programs; and participating on working Club committees in the areas of conservation, horticulture, education, photography and floral design.
d. The Santa Fe Garden Club is active throughout the year, and member participation is an expectation.
e. Membership is open to Santa Fe County residents who are willing and able to participate in the Club’s hands-on projects Behind Adobe Walls and Pequeño Home and Garden Tours, and the New Mexico Museum of Art Courtyard Garden; attend monthly business meetings and programs; and, participate on working committees in the areas of conservation, horticulture, photography and floral design.
The Santa Fe Garden Club welcomes community partnerships and collaborative projects in the fields of conservation, horticulture, floral design and civic improvement.
